David Lloyd Leisure is a chain of health clubs that David Lloyd founded in 1982. Currently, they have 81 locations in the United Kingdom and 10 more in different countries in Europe.
The company was acquired by Whitbread PLC in 1995, and then merged with Next Generation Clubs in 2007, creating David Lloyd Leisure Group.

Their facilities are distinct from other gyms because their focus is providing high-quality fitness and health services for the whole family, as well as an emphasis on racquet sports.
Fitness and Classes
The clubs offer about 10,000 classes in total every week. They have every kind of training, from reducing stress to burning calories to body toning and to strength and conditioning. Their trainings include:

- Strength and Conditioning – BodyPump, BodyVive, Core Stability, Aqua Aerobics

As a gym member, aside from choosing between thousands of classes, you can also use their top-of-the-line gym equipment, relax in the spa areas, and play squash, badminton, and tennis. You can also swim in the pools that are adequately heated.
There are pools dedicated to adults and children, lanes for uninterrupted swimming, and lifeguards supervising during the swim time of children. They have outdoor Jacuzzi and outdoor pools from April to September.
The clubs have professional swim coaches who are qualified to help improve the members’ swimming techniques. There are 45-minute sessions for kids 11 to 17 years of age.
And in selected clubs, they offer water courses, like performance training, rookie lifeguard courses, and water polo.
The membership types offered are designed to meet the requirements of each member. They have the Standard, Flexible, Full (Racquets), and Health & Fitness.

A free David Lloyd guest pass, however, is available to guests of club members that may be used in accordance to the membership type, and are available in locations, like Hatfield, Milton Keynes, Bushey, Newcastle, Renfrew and Belfast.
