Parent & Baby takes place on Mondays, and having an infant or qualifying toddler (up to the age of two) is required for entry. The fourth special is Empire Extra, which includes all of the event cinema showings: ballet, documentaries, sports, theatre, music, opera, and exhibitions. Last but not least, Empire Cinemas offers the special Last Chance to See Thursdays, where films nearing the end of their run can be viewed for a special low price.

In their quest to deliver the best film experience, Empire has dedicated several resources to ensure that their theaters are accessible to those with disabilities. They also work in accordance with the CEA Card, which offers several benefits to disabled moviegoers including the ability to purchase a complementary ticket for someone to accompany them.

Empire Cinema was founded in 2005 as a direct result of the Odeon and UCI merger and the Cineworld and UGC merger. When the two freshly-merged companies had to divest a number of their businesses, these divested cinemas came together to form what would soon become the largest independently-owned cinema group in the UK.

While the company itself is relatively young, Empire Cinemas is operating off of a very rich heritage from its parent companies and its namesake flagship location, the Empire Theater. Empire shows both mainstream blockbusters and art-house classics, in addition to special events such as sports and ballets.
