Starting out a perfect meal at Pizza Express could be with a Dough Balls Doppio; a new recipe with a double portion of their famous dough balls served with three dips; pesto, garlic butter and pestorissa, Fresella Pizza Express; a ring of their classic dough, baked and topped with chopped tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil with a ball of creamy buffalo mozzarella and rocket at the center or, the Classic Italian Antipasto, another new recipe of cured meats; Finnochiono, Coppa, Milano and Calabrian sausage with olives, roasted tomatoes, marinated aubergine, buffalo mozzarella and sweet Peppadew peppers with pea and mint pesto, pestorissa dip and dough baked with Gran Milano cheese and black pepper.
For salads, there are two new creations. The first one is buffalo Mozzarella and Tomato Salad, that’s buffalo mozzarella served with fresh basil, pesto and extra virgin olive oil. The other is Risotto Fresco, creamy white wine risotto with oak-roasted salmon, garlic and fresh parsley, finished with rocket, gran Milano cheese and a wedge of lemon.
Pizza Express is all about specialty pizzas that can only be created by true culinary artists. Here are some of the newest masterpieces than have come out from Pizza Express’ creative kitchen.
For a creative make-over of a popular flavor, you can try the Margharita Bufala which is made with buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, garlic oil, oregano and black pepper finished extra virgin olive oil. For a new concoction that has the potential to be a classic, they have La Regina, a pie-full of smoked ham hock, chestnut mushrooms, buffalo mozzarella, garlic oil and black pepper on a béchamel base, finished with freshly chopped parsley and black truffle oil. If you are looking for something hot andspicy, you can try the American Hottest; pepperoni, hot green and roquito peppers, fresh red chili, spicy hot soft duja sausages, tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, finished with torn buffalo mozzarella, fresh parsley and chili oil. For a white based pizza option, they are also starting to serve the Roman Prosciutto Fichi; a white based romana pizza that’s baked with mozzarella and gran Milano cheese and then, finished with rocket, prosciutto crudo, shaved Gran Milano cheese, chopped parsley, olive oil and fresh figs that are marinated in balsamic vinegar.
And for desserts, Pizza Express has six new additional treats. They have started serving Eton Mess Cheesecake; a new twist on a British classic strawberry cheesecake on a crumbly biscuit base topped with whole pieces of meringue. You can treat yourself to an Eggera Tartufo Limoncello; a creamy Sicilian lemon and Fior di Latte Gelato with a liquid center of limoncello. You can choose the new Tiramisu; layers of Ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, coffee and cocoa, Primo Gelato; two scoops of their extra creamy gelato with a choice from coconut passion which is coconut gelato with a swirl of passion fruit coulis or, raspberry ripple which is clotted cream gelato with a swirl of raspberry coulis, shortbread and meringue pieces. Then, there’s the Lemon Posset Crunch; creamy lemon posset on a ginger biscuit base. And for the last entry in our Pizza Express new foods list we have the Strawberry Fool Cheesecake; a strawberry cheesecake with a hint of mint on a crumbly biscuit base.
